It can be quite challenging

A PhD student took part in the final of the international competition "My doctoral thesis in 180 seconds". She elaborated 14 versions of her presentation, took 5 to 6 training sessions and rehearsed her presentation repeatedly, sometimes recording it on video.

She says that winner presentations often have the same structure:

• presenting the problem
• illustrate the methods and techniques with a metaphor
• summarize the results
• conclude
